Maths Week

Maths week is going so well in school. On Monday each class did data as a lesson making graphs and charts. On Tuesday each class did a maths trail incorporating maths into the environment. Today, we had the Olympics outside where the children learned all the different ways maths is used in sport…length, time, speed, etc. what a fantastic week we are having. Tomorrow we will be doing logic games and on Friday maths games with parents helpers. Aileen’s class is still looking for volunteers if anyone is free!

Marie’s class hosted a Maths fair this afternoon. They had spent some of last week creating their own board games and then each of the other classes were invited in for demonstrations. What a great idea. Thanks so much to Marie and the boys and girls in 4th, 5th and 6th class. We had a great afternoon.

About our school

Multi-denominational – children of all denominations and none are equally welcome into our school. Co-educational – Educate Together schools are open to girls and boys and gender stereotyping is addressed and challenged. Child-centred – this applies not only to teaching and learning within the classroom but to all decisions at staff and management level, which must have the well-being of the children at their heart. Democratically-run – parents are viewed as a positive resource for the school. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged, where appropriate.
