Amber Flag

We are delighted to announce that our school is working towards achieving an Amber Flag for Positive Mental Health! This initiative is happening in schools and clubs all over the country, and we feel it is a great opportunity to be pro-active and positive about our mental health and wellbeing – children, staff and parents. A committee has been formed with Lily Whyte Weaver, Ruairi McGuinness (2nd), Leon Maher, Daniel Walsh (3rd), Aoife McGlynn, Heidi Rowlands (4th), Faith Doyle, Sarah Fletcher McHugh (5th), Nathan Maher (6th) and teacher Marie. We hope to improve our awareness and understanding of mental health and promote positive wellbeing through a variety of activities during the school year.

A thought to start your New Year on a positive note…

About our school

Multi-denominational – children of all denominations and none are equally welcome into our school. Co-educational – Educate Together schools are open to girls and boys and gender stereotyping is addressed and challenged. Child-centred – this applies not only to teaching and learning within the classroom but to all decisions at staff and management level, which must have the well-being of the children at their heart. Democratically-run – parents are viewed as a positive resource for the school. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged, where appropriate.
